{"id":2620,"date":"2016-10-29T14:29:02","date_gmt":"2016-10-29T18:29:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ptwatercraft.com\/blog\/?p=2620"},"modified":"2016-10-29T14:29:02","modified_gmt":"2016-10-29T18:29:02","slug":"pt11-launch-with-a-bonus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ptwatercraft.com\/blog\/pt11-launch-with-a-bonus\/","title":{"rendered":"PT11 launch with a bonus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I admire those who take on the challenge of building a boat or an airplane. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CNC_router\" target=\"_blank\">CNC technology<\/a> on kits has done for creative people, what the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Global_Positioning_System\" target=\"_blank\">GPS<\/a> did for adventurous people. (Not that they might not be one and the same) Cruising is far more accessible to those without traditional navigational skills, and CNC routering has opened up a whole new avenue to those who want to create something that would otherwise have been beyond their skill level.<\/p>\n<p>Pause on that thought while mentally revisiting a lot of fun sailing&#8230;.. Photo;Randy Kerr<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Our customers come from many walks of life and a wide range of ages and skill levels. However; they never fail to impress me. While Russell can take\u00a0 credit for creating a beautiful design, kit and manual, our customers need the vision, passion, patience, and attention to detail for good results. To add the complexity of documenting their own efforts takes the same qualities and much more.\u00a0 I cannot, for example, count how many tens of thousands of photos Russell had to carefully set up, snap, choose, and edit to get a few hundred for the manual.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, for this post, I would like to point the spotlight on the Kerr Family; Randy, Kim, son Alex, and good friend Mark. Not only did they\u00a0 complete their beautifully built PT 11, &#8220;<em>Lil&#8217; Bear<\/em>&#8221; in about 6 weeks, their documentation of the experience resulted in a wonderful<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2621\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2621\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ptwatercraft.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DSC09030.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2621\" src=\"https:\/\/ptwatercraft.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DSC09030-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"ptwatercraft.com\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ptwatercraft.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DSC09030-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/ptwatercraft.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/DSC09030.jpeg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2621\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Lil&#8217; Bear&#8221; named in honor of Kim&#8217;s great uncle who was on the crew of the Coast Guard cutter <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/USS_Bear_(1874)\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;USS Bear&#8221;<\/a> back in the late1800\u2019s.
